The Best of New and Old

Located on Howard Street between First and Second in the South Financial District of downtown San Francisco, 543 Howard was built in 1924 as a three-story grocery warehouse. Gordon Development has retrofitted this vintage reinforced-concrete building and added two new floors of heavy-timber construction. 543 Howard now contains 75,000 square feet of office space on five-and-a-half floors - each full floor plate measuring 14,500 square feet.

Environmentally Sensitive Design and Superior Craftsmanship
Understanding that exceptional work environments reflect an organization's fundamental values, we've created a one-of-a-kind headquarters for organizations that want to call San Francisco home. This new mid-rise office building offers state-of-the-art egress, communications, electrical and life-safety systems, all while retaining the look and feel of its original warehouse construction- wide-open floor plans, high ceilings, sand-blasted concrete columns and floor-to-ceiling operable windows. The result is a headquarters that's not only unique, but also environmentally sensitive. Through adaptive re-use, sustainable building materials, high-efficiency climate systems and various other conservation building practices, 543 Howard Street embodies the basic principles of Green Architecture, as defined by the US Green Building Council's L.E.E.D. scale.

Prime Location Means Prime Exposure
Situated at the center of new development in downtown San Francisco, 543 Howard Street offers small and mid-sized organizations a strategic location with convenient access to both the freeway and mass transit serving the entire Bay Area. Now employees can commute easily from throughout the Bay Area, whether by car, train or bus.

543 Howard also presents one of the best new signage and branding opportunities in downtown San Francisco. The Howard Street façade is prominently visible from most of the neighborhood. In fact, the Tehama Street façade faces the Bay Bridge, meaning that countless daily commuters view the building's signage dead-on as they exit from the Bay Bridge and enter downtown.

Sales and Leasing
Gordon Development is now accepting offers either for lease or for purchase.

Small and midsize businesses often look to purchasing office space as a way to lower future expenses, but always face the challenge of finding something for sale that fits their needs in a downtown filled with high-rises. To address this challenge, Gordon Development has divided 543 Howard Street into full-floor office condominiums. Companies looking for as little as 12,500 usable square feet can now own their own floor with full window lines and prime exposure in downtown San Francisco. Of course, a company can buy more than one floor-several combinations, all the way up to the full square footage are available.

Dramatic and impressive, 543 Howard's main floor is also suitable as a venue for public events, conferences, receptions and presentations. Organizations with those sorts of needs are also encouraged to inquire.
